What is a Cornerstone Retreat?
Simply put it is a retreat given by the women of the parish for the women of the parish and a separate retreat given by the men of the parish for the men of the parish. A 26-Hour Experience
A Cornerstone retreat is a gathering of the men and a gathering of the women on two separate weekends. It is a renewal process that calls us together to grow personally in the knowledge and love of God. It is a building of a community - person by person – family by family - neighborhood by neighborhood with Jesus Christ as the Cornerstone. Parishioners are invited to work together to build a warm and friendly atmosphere here at St. Anastasia.
What Can You Expect Cornerstone to be like?
The gathering will begin on Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. and will end with a Family Liturgy on Saturday at 7:30 P.M. Cornerstone takes place at St. Anastasia School and Little Church. Sleeping accommodations along with delicious meals and snacks provided by a Kitchen Team during the weekend (again, all parishioners). During the weekend there will be time for reflection, sharing life’s experiences with each other, and small discussion groups. On Friday evening the sacrament of Reconciliation will be made available. After dinner on Saturday night there will be a celebration of the Eucharist for all Cornerstone participants.
What do You Have to Do?
Fill in a registration form that you can get in church or at the rectory, pay a small fee if you are able and just come! No one is ever turned away because of lack of funds.
Who Will Run the Cornerstone?
The members are made up of parishioners who have experienced Cornerstone in the past. Each member will share his/her abilities in various roles. Some will give talks on selected themes, others will lead small discussion groups, and still others will arrange for accommodations and meals. Each person on the team has a particular role – but there is only one goal – to grow personally in the knowledge and love of God and help others to come to know and love him as well.
What Are Cornerstone Talks?
The speakers – all members of our parish will share their own personal experiences of God’s love and activity in their lives. It is much easier to share the joyous moments in our lives than the sorrowful ones – though you may hear some of both. It is in witnessing how God is with us in good times and in bad that we grow in our knowledge of his abounding love for us.
Who Is Invited?
Anyone in the parish who has not already made Cornerstone Retreat. Is that YOU?
Who Comes to A Cornerstone Retreat?
Anyone looking to “jump-start” their sense of belonging to a parish community One looking to take time out for themselves to reflect People who have been away from the church for a while and are curious about reconnecting Those who simply need some time to stop and think People like you.

What is Cursillo?
Cursillo (pronounced cur-see-yo) is an experience that gives us a renewed understanding of our faith. Its goal is to make faith come alive for those who participate in this three day experience. People from all walks of life spend three days together beginning on Thursday nights and ending Sunday afternoon.
The program consists of daily Mass, prayer, talks, open discussions and the availability of Sacramental Reconciliation. The talks and sharing are given by lay persons, priests, deacons and religious sisters.
There are two Cursillos - one for men and one for women- in the fall and in the spring of each year.
Many say that attending a Cursillo has enabled them to live a more fulfilling life.
If you would like more information or are interested in attending a Cursillo, please contact Kathy Glowski at (201) 836-2783.
Women's Day of Spirituality
An annual event here at St. Anastasia’s for many years, this retreat day is usually scheduled during Lent and provides a “spiritual break” for women.
